Pickleball Balance Class

Don’t forget to sign up for the Pickleball Balance Class on Tuesday at 8.15am! As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I often see Pickleball players who could improve their balance on the court. Being stable and balanced is one of the keys to improving your consistency with every shot!

In the Pickleball Balance Class, we will work on various exercises to challenge (and improve) your balance so that when the time comes, you are ready to get that tough ball, get back in position, and squash the competition! No matter how good (or bad) your balance is, it can always improve! This class will incorporate Pickleball specific movements with exercises to get you on the courts with more confidence!

I hope to see you Tuesday!

Open Play Tomorrow (Saturday 11/21)

Hello everyone! Just a reminder that tomorrow morning is Open Play from 9am-11am. Please remember that Open Play will be a little different for this season, starting tomorrow! Courts will be designated by level (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). There will also be a Challenge court.

COVID-19: Please be mindful that the Pandemic is still a serious problem. Please follow our procedures to ensure everyone stays safe: click here for the Policies and Procedures for Pickleball.

Remember that there is a court etiquette to follow for each court during Open Play to ensure everyone gets an opportunity to play:

If 4 or more players are waiting, and play on a court ends, all players on that court are replaced by the first 4 players waiting.

If 1 or 2 players are waiting to play, and play on a court ends, the winners on that court split and stay and the losers are replaced by the waiting players, with these exceptions:

  • (1) if the winners have played two consecutive games on the court, then the losers stay on the court, unless the losers have also played two consecutive games on the court;
  • (2) the waiting players can elect to challenge the winners (unless they’ve played 2 games on the court);
  • (3) if 3 players are waiting, one of the two winners comes off the court.

Challenge Court:

Anyone of any level can come challenge the winning team on this court. The winning team remains on the court. If they win 3 games, the winners have to come off the court, and 4 new players come on. If 4 players are not available to come one the court, the winners may stay. If 3 players are waiting, one of the winners stays on the court.

I will be there all morning tomorrow to ensure everything is as smooth as possible!

I hope to see you all out there for some great Pickleball!

Hello Indian Ridge Pickleballers! It was great to meet a lot of you today at Open Play. I tried to make my way around all the courts and meet as many of you as I could, but I’m sure I missed some of you. If so, hopefully we can meet soon!

First, please know that I have updated the entire website with current information for this season. So please visit for all Pickleball related things at Indian Ridge!

This season will likely be a little different than previous ones since it is my understanding that this is the first season Indian Ridge has a Full Time Pickleball Director. I’d like to thank Rod and all the other ambassadors who have helped with the transition so far. You have done a great job and I think I’ll be able to to build on your past efforts to improve the program!

So, let’s get into it…

Unfortunately… COVID-19 is still very much present! It is important that everyone playing at Indian Ridge (members and guests) are on the same page regarding the Policies and Procedures related to Covid-19. Remember, the main goal is keep everyone safe, and in turn maintain a healthy program so that we can avoid shutting everything down. In order to accomplish this, we all have to work together. I have added a Covid-19 Policy and Procedures to the website, and it is the expectation that everyone follow these procedures around the Pickleball courts. You can find the information at this link:

Weekly Calendar (starting 11/23/2020): I have created a weekly calendar that will be the template for the whole season. Other events may be added as we go, but this will give you an idea of the routine in place for Pickleball. Here is the link for the calendar:

Up date on things………

So, can you pick out the most impressive/lovable pickleballer at our recent Halloween Party? Yeah, it’s surely “chicken little” a/k/a Harry Markowitz. Why? Because, as defined, “Chicken Little is nice, good-natured, sweet, caring, funny and pleasant.” We know the other guys , so it’s got to be Harry.
So, if Chicken Little is the most impressive pickleballer, who’s the goofiest? Surely it’s not our Lila. So, it’s gotta be the stupid-looking-one in the polka-dot sombrero.

Here’s an update on a couple of things.

First, Tuesday and Thursday Open Play times (after tomorrow, Thursday 11/12) will move from mornings at 9-11am to afternoons at 4-6pm. This is usually done to accommodate golf playing, pickleball league play and morning clinics, and in the interest of those wanting to “social” at the Club house after play. While some of these events may not happen in the short term due to the pandemic, at least in the same way, we’ll be ready for what evolves.

Second, as announced, we’re welcoming our new Pickleball Director, Noe (Noah) Sariban, during this Saturday’s Open Play at 9-11am. So be sure to come by to say “hello” and maybe even play a few points with him and get a playing tip or two along the way.
