Happy New Year! Although 2020 has been challenging and an adjustment for everyone in various ways, I’m thankful to be a part of Indian Ridge! We only had 1 person who tested positive for Covid-19 within the Pickleballers since I started working back in November, and we should all continue to be careful and mindful around other people. I am pleased that everyone is being responsible, keeping their distance, and wearing their masks, and glad we have been able to continue all operations on the Pickleball side of things! Let’s keep it that way moving forward!
Starting January 1st, 2021, there are a few of changes happening to the regular Pickleball Schedule.
Open Play times will be on Tuesday/Thursday 3pm-6pm, and continue on Saturday/Sunday 9am-11am.
Tuesday Balance Class and Thursday Agility/Strength Class have been combined into 1 class on Tuesdays at 9am (no longer 8:15am). I hope to see more of you there as it will start a little later in the day, and is essential to improving your Pickleball game.
Thursday mornings: I am creating a “Drill Like A Pro” session from 9am-10am. This is open to any level, and will just be a practice session where I show you how to approach practice and drilling in order to improve your game, no matter what level of play you are at.
Saturday Mornings (following Open Play) at 11am: I am creating the “Shot of the Week” Clinic where we will go over 1 specific shot every week, so that we can develop additional skills in your game that will help you improve! As with all clinics, only 8 spots available so signing up in advance is important.
The other regular Wednesday/Friday Clinic schedule will not change.
These changes will improve the current services offered for Indian Ridge Pickleball, and the schedule changes will help with the colder weather. Please see the updated flyer for all details, schedule, and rates.
I hope to see all of you at various clinics, classes, and lessons very soon!
For Thanksgiving, Open Play has been moved to 9am-11am. Courts will be designated by level, and the Challenge court will be in place! I will be there to monitor everything and to make sure everything goes smoothly!
Don’t forget to sign up for the Pickleball Balance Class on Tuesday at 8.15am! As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I often see Pickleball players who could improve their balance on the court. Being stable and balanced is one of the keys to improving your consistency with every shot!
In the Pickleball Balance Class, we will work on various exercises to challenge (and improve) your balance so that when the time comes, you are ready to get that tough ball, get back in position, and squash the competition! No matter how good (or bad) your balance is, it can always improve! This class will incorporate Pickleball specific movements with exercises to get you on the courts with more confidence!
We had a great turn out today for Open Play. I hope everyone enjoyed the new Saturday format with court designation for each level! I tried to make my way around every court and play with as many people as I could. If I did not get to you, I apologize, and hopefully I can play a few points with you next time!
Here is the upcoming schedule for Open Play this week (Thanksgiving Week).
Tomorrow (Sunday), Open Play is from 9am-11am. I will not be present and courts will not be level specific.
Tuesday: Open Play 4pm-6pm (no court designation)
Thursday (Thanksgiving): Open Play is 9am-11am – Turkeyball!!
Also don’t forget: this week is the start of the new clinic and class schedule (nothing on Thanksgiving).
Tuesday: Balance Class! Come challenge your balance with various Pickleball Specific Balance exercises in order to improve your stability on the court and improve your shot making!
Hello everyone! Just a reminder that tomorrow morning is Open Play from 9am-11am. Please remember that Open Play will be a little different for this season, starting tomorrow! Courts will be designated by level (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced). There will also be a Challenge court.
Remember that there is a court etiquette to follow for each court during Open Play to ensure everyone gets an opportunity to play:
If 4 or more players are waiting, and play on a court ends, all players on that court are replaced by the first 4 players waiting.
If 1 or 2 players are waiting to play, and play on a court ends, the winners on that court split and stay and the losers are replaced by the waiting players, with these exceptions:
(1) if the winners have played two consecutive games on the court, then the losers stay on the court, unless the losers have also played two consecutive games on the court;
(2) the waiting players can elect to challenge the winners (unless they’ve played 2 games on the court);
(3) if 3 players are waiting, one of the two winners comes off the court.
Anyone of any level can come challenge the winning team on this court. The winning team remains on the court. If they win 3 games, the winners have to come off the court, and 4 new players come on. If 4 players are not available to come one the court, the winners may stay. If 3 players are waiting, one of the winners stays on the court.
I will be there all morning tomorrow to ensure everything is as smooth as possible!
I hope to see you all out there for some great Pickleball!

Hello Indian Ridge Pickleballers! It was great to meet a lot of you today at Open Play. I tried to make my way around all the courts and meet as many of you as I could, but I’m sure I missed some of you. If so, hopefully we can meet soon!
For the week of 11/16/2020, clinics will be on Tuesday and Thursday. After that Please be aware that the permanent schedule (for clinics and classes) posted below will begin the week of 11/23/2020.
Below you will find all the current information you need for this 2020/2021 season at Indian Ridge. I am thrilled to be part of this club and I think it will be a great season!
First, please know that I have updated the entire website with current information for this season. So please visit https://irpickleballers.com/ for all Pickleball related things at Indian Ridge!
This season will likely be a little different than previous ones since it is my understanding that this is the first season Indian Ridge has a Full Time Pickleball Director. I’d like to thank Rod and all the other ambassadors who have helped with the transition so far. You have done a great job and I think I’ll be able to to build on your past efforts to improve the program!
So, let’s get into it…
Unfortunately… COVID-19 is still very much present! It is important that everyone playing at Indian Ridge (members and guests) are on the same page regarding the Policies and Procedures related to Covid-19. Remember, the main goal is keep everyone safe, and in turn maintain a healthy program so that we can avoid shutting everything down. In order to accomplish this, we all have to work together. I have added a Covid-19 Policy and Procedures to the website, and it is the expectation that everyone follow these procedures around the Pickleball courts. You can find the information at this link: https://irpickleballers.com/covid-19-policies-and-procedures/
Weekly Calendar (starting 11/23/2020): I have created a weekly calendar that will be the template for the whole season. Other events may be added as we go, but this will give you an idea of the routine in place for Pickleball. Here is the link for the calendar: https://irpickleballers.com/weekly-calendar/
Clinics and Classes: There will be 3 different clinics each week:
Beginners (Wednesdays 9am-10:30am)
Intermediate (Wednesdays 10:30am-12pm, and Fridays 9am-10:30am)
Advanced (Fridays 10:30am-12pm)
I will also be offering two classes: Pickleball Balance Class (Tuesdays 8.15am-9am) ; and Pickleball Strength and Agility Class (Thursdays 8.15am-9am)
This season, Open Play will be structured a little bit differently. We will have designated courts for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced play. There will also be a Challenge Court during open play. For more details on Open Play (including times and court details), please visit this link: https://irpickleballers.com/organized-play/
I look forward to a great season! See you on the courts very soon!
